“Especially after the recent 3-peat of the National Title of their U16 team in the Super Y League, and the promotion of the Academy as one of the top 20 clubs in the country many clubs in Europe are interested in our players, and are willing to offer them professional contracts in summer” says Academy Director Dr. Josef Schulz.
Four to five players will go to specific clubs this summer and join professional teams in their pre- season camps, and if everything works out, these players will sign professional contracts.
The Academy is using all the contacts it’s Director, Josef Schulz, developed during his professional career in Europe. After his active career as a professional soccer player in Austria, Dr. Schulz represented many top soccer players, like Mario Kempes, World Champion, MVP and Top Scorer with the Argentina National Team at the 1978 World Cup (See Photo), and other National Team players from other countries.

“I think the time is now for young American soccer players to go to Europe. Some players have already established themselves in the top leagues, like the English Premier League or German Bundesliga in the last few years, and they were the pioneers for the younger players”.
Josef Schulz insists that all his players who are becoming professionals, also need to finish their degrees while playing soccer professionally.
“I don’t accept the myth that it’s either professional sport or academics. Everybody who is signing a professional contract through us, needs to sign that he will finish his degree till the age of 26 as well. This way they have the security of an academic degree just in case. And in addition they will train their brain constantly, which they need to use on the soccer field, too”.
Josef knows what he is talking about. While playing professional soccer in Europe he finished his doctoral degree in economics at the University in Vienna.
