Megacard Summer Cup 2006
Schulz Academy '90 got their first win at the Megacard Summer Cup U-17 tournament by beating Ado Den Haag of Holland 2-1. The first goal came off a corner kick in the 4th minute when defender Joey Borick soared high to convert a header. Just minutes later the Dutch equalized off a nice combination play. Schulz Academy had the better ball possession throughout the first half and the teams went into the halftime break deadlocked at one goal a piece.

In the second half Schulz Academy looked the more dangerous team with good combination play and timely forward runs. Donovan Henry tore through the Dutch defense with a sensational dribbling run into the Ado Den Haag penalty box forcing the goalkeeper to commit a foul. The Dutch goalkeeper, being the last man, was immediately shown the red card but the referee awarded a free-kick instead of a penalty for the infraction. Defender Shawn Barry converted the free-kick to give Schulz Academy the 2-1 lead. With the player advantage, the Americans controlled the remainder of the game and launched several attacks but were held at bay by the Dutch.

Schulz Academy will play their final Group B game against Glasgow Rangers on Friday, August 4th.  In other Group B action, FSA Austria MAGNA all but assured themselves a place in the Final with a 2:0 win over Glasgow Rangers.  In Group A,
PSV Eindhoven and Malmö FF played to a 0-0 draw, while Borussia Dortmund defeated Dinamo Zagreb 4:2.
