The above list does not include the many other players who made the State ODP teams and the SYL ODP teams in their age groups. And lets not forget Josmer Altidore who is with the U.S. U-20 Men’s National Team and also with MLS Red Bull New York.
This speaks to the quality of players who are expected to show up for the Schulz Academy Super-Y-League tryouts over the next few weeks. The next Schulz Academy Super-Y-League tryout will be held on Friday, February 16th at South County Regional Park (South End, Field No. 3) from 8:00pm - 9:30pm for U13-U17 and U20 players who will play in the United Soccer League’s Super-20 League. The address of the park is: 11200 Park Access Rd., Boca Raton, FL 33498.
The tryouts are by invitation only. Although, if you are confident that you can play along side some of the best players in the country, then it may be a good idea to come out and try to make one of the teams as a walk-on. For U17 hopefuls, the 2007 Schulz Academy U17s are the 3-time North American Champions, sometimes featuring 7 Regional or National team players in the line up. The younger teams also feature similar quality players.
It is no wonder Schulz Academy was the only club to qualify 5 Boys teams to the Super-Y-League North American Finals in 2006. The players made a good account of themselves as 9 Schulz Academy players made the All-Super-Y-League Finals teams in their age groups. Edvin Worley earned MVP honors with the U16 3-peat Champions. No easy feat considering clubs such as Chicago Magic, CASL, New York Red Bull, D.C. United, Vancouver Whitecaps, LAFC, Long Island Roughriders, were among the clubs who qualified teams for the Super-Y-League Finals. None had more boys selected to the All-Super-Y-League Finals teams than Schulz Academy.
