TAMPA, FL (November 18, 2007) - The curtain came down on the third day of competition at the Super Y-League North American Finals in Tampa Florida. Schulz Academy saw two of their four teams advance past the group stage. The U16 Boys had been part of one of the most talked about games of the Finals when they were held to a 2-2 draw with United 96 FC. One college coach descibed the high level of play as "Unbeatable". Unfortunately, the U16 Boys did not make it out of their group as Red Bull New York advanced after a 4-1 win. The U17 Girls also shared the same fate as they lost their final group game to RSL-Florida. The day would get brighter for Schulz as the U14 Boys facing a must win situation stood up and delivered. Two goals from Sekani Sinclair and one goal from Daniel Henderson gave the U14 Boys a convincing 3-0 win over PDA. Before the game, the PDA head coach commented that the winner of the game would most likely go on to win the SYL Finals U14 Championship. We hope he is right. The day ended with the 3-time Defending Champions U17 Boys earning the point they needed to secure the group and advance after a 1-1 tie with FC Westchester. The 2006 SYL MVP Edvin Worley was the goal scorer.
