The Schulz Academy U17 Boys team is labeled as the “Greatest team in the history of the Super Y-League”, this by the Super Y-League organizers themselves. With 3 consecutive Super Y-League North American titles and one Semi-Final appearance in four years, the Schulz Academy U17 Boys ranks atop the more than 2000 teams that have participated in the Super Y-League over the years. The Super Y-League is recognized as the highest level for youth soccer in the U.S. and Canada and thus is the only league that has been granted ODP status outside of the U.S. Youth Soccer Regional Series.



"This group of players is really something special. Some of them are together for more than 9 years, and it really shows. We started the team when they were 8. One of them was Jozy Altidore, who plays already now as an 18 year old in the U.S. Men’s National Team. We would have needed him especially this year with all the injuries our forwards were carrying during the Nationals, but he plays already on the highest level now, and we wish him all the best in the future", says Dr. Schulz, Head Coach and founder of the Schulz Academy.

"When we started this team when they were eight we only had 8 players, so we had to play 3v3 tournaments. They won the National Finals of the 3v3 Tournament in Disney 4 times in a row, and there were years, when the 2 opponents of the Final of the Nationals was Boca Juniors 1 vs. Boca Juniors 2.” (Before Schulz Academy existed, the players played under the umbrella of Boca Juniors, a travel club, also founded by Dr. Josef Schulz).

“In addition to the 3 National Titles I think the biggest achievement was to win the State Cup U13, playing up a year as 12 year olds, and then advancing to the Region III Finals, winning the group there, and then just loosing in penalty kicks in the Finals vs. CASL, which won the Final 4 the same year. Nobody ever will achieve this, because nobody even considers playing up in the State Cup. But this showed already early what a talented group of players this was.", states Dr. Schulz.

Another validation of just how talented this group is has to do with the fact that every player on the roster is being pursued by college coaches with scholarship offers. Of course some of these players are even looking at turning pro as they posses the ingredients to compete at the professional level. “Josmer’s talent was obvious, and you could already tell early that he can play on the highest level in the future, but there is the one or the other player in this team, who has the potential to end up in the Men’s National Team too in the years to come.” states Dr. Schulz.

"I am sure this team will snatch another National Title in the Super Y League in the U20 division in the next 3 years. Although records are broken in any sport sooner or later, this one I think will last a long time." says a convinced Dr. Schulz.
