Schulz Academy traveled to Weston in Super-Y League action over the May 21st weekend and came away unbeaten with 3 wins and 2 ties. Schulz Academy, which focuses on developing players for the highest level of competition, demonstrated that, despite its size, it is still the dominant club in South Florida. With many key players away due to the ODP weekend activities, some younger players were given the opportunity to go on the road and battle their older Weston counterparts. The results speak for themselves:
U13 Boys 3-3 (
Calvin Rezende, Connor Rezende, Daniel Mendes);
U14 Boys 2-0 (
Carlos Acosta, Miguel Gomez);
U15 Boys 0-0;
U16 Boys 2-1 (
Icaro DeOliveira, Sean Wotring); and
U17 Boys 3-0 (
Jaisen Labrada, John Millan, and Andre McCreath).
“Playing Weston (
one of the biggest clubs in the state) at their home field is always difficult. Today was even more difficult with some key players away at ODP. Our younger players stepped up and showed what can be expected in years to come. Our performance today was encouraging and we will only get better over the course of the season.” stated assistant coach Gary Cole.
The next games for Schulz Academy will be on June 3rd vs. Kendall at home at Caloosa Park.
