Altidore Will Be A Marked Man
The last time they met Josmer Altidore scored 2 spectacular goals to upstage David Beckham in the Red Bull's 5-4 win over the L.A. Galaxy
BOCA RATON, FL (October 14, 2007) - According to Schulz Academy Director, Dr. Josef Schulz, "Josmer is a Big-Game player." This was evident during the 2007 FIFA Under-20 World Cup when Josmer scored 4 goals to lead the U.S. U20 MNT. But it was even more evident when Red Bull New York met the L.A. Galaxy in front of a New York crowd of over 66,000 on August 18th. It was supposed to be a coming out party for David Beckham, who did not disappoint, but it was Josmer with his signature double scissor move who stole the show with 2 hugh goals in the 5-4 New York win. Now both clubs meet again this Thursday night, October 18th, at the Home Depot Center in Carson California before what is sure to be another sell-out crowd. The game will be televised live on ESPN2 at 11:00PM ET.

"I expect Josmer to have another big game. But he will no doubt be a marked man. L.A. needs these points to get in the playoffs. The last thing they want is to get eliminated by a teenager. However, Josmer has demonstrated that he can handle the pressure of such a big game. He exhibited these same qualities when he was just 10 years old playing in big games for the Academy where opposing teams routinely marked him with 3 or 4 players - and that didn’t stop Josmer." says Dr. Schulz.
