Preseason form - scoring and assisting on goals - solidifies Matt's starting position with SC Schwanenstadt

Former Schulz Academy player,
Matt Luzunaris, helped his new club SC Schwanenstadt of the Austrian Bundesliga 2 to two vital wins to start the second half of the season. Last week the team won away against FC Magna Austria 1-0, and this week they played at home and beat FC Parndorf 4-1. With these 2 victories the club secured their stay in the 2nd division for this year. Matt Luzunaris, a starter in both games, helped SC Schwanenstadt to secure these very important 6 points.

"I came very close to scoring this week, but the Parndorf keeper made a great reaction save after I headed the ball on target. These 2 victories were extremely important for the club, and I am very happy that I could contribute to this team’s success. The club has big goals for the future and I am very confident and happy that I can be a part of these goals. I am working very hard at practice and in games to establish myself in this league and in Europe, and I feel that I am very close to scoring some goals, too." said Matt in recent conversation with Dr. Schulz.
"It’s not easy for an 18 year old American to play in Europe, but Matt did a great job in the preseason and established himself as a starter in the team. I am very proud of him, and the professionalism he showed in his first few months in Europe will open a lot of doors for more players of our Academy to play abroad. In the summer we are planning to bring at least 6 more players of our Academy to different clubs in Europe." states Dr. Josef Schulz, founder of Schulz Academy.
