MATT LUZUNARIS STRIKES IN EUROPE AGAIN
MATT’S 2 GOALS GIVES WIENERBERG MAGNA A 3-2 WIN

5 GOALS IN 7 GAMES IN EUROPE
Matt Luzunaris had 2 goals and 1 assist in the 3-2 home win of Wienerberg Magna vs. SK Amstetten in Austria. After a 2 weeks layoff because of a light injury, the American striker didn’t need long to get back into his usual goal scoring groove.
Matt scored the first goal in the 15th minute. He finished a cross from the right side with a sideways volley with his right foot into the upper left corner.
The second goal came in the 36th minute after he received a pass on the half left side on top of the box, finishing a 1v1 situation with the goalkeeper with a hard shot into the right corner.
In the 51st minute Matt sprinted down the left side to put in an out swinger with the outside of his right foot. The second striker ran on to the ball, and put the ball with a first touch under the cross bar.
“I learned a lot in the first 6 months here in Europe, and I think I am ready now. I needed a little time to adjust to the physical play here, but my speed is a big advantage. Sometimes you need to be patient with the ball, and not always think to go towards the goal immediately. The defenders here in Europe are very smart, and just wait for little mistakes of the forwards to steal the ball from them. I know I am faster than most of the defenders and I know I can jump higher than them too. This gives me a lot of confidence. I just need to stay injury free for a longer period of time, and I am sure I can make it to the top.” says Matt in his interview.
