Shawn Barry and U.S. U-18 MNT Finish 3rd in Portugal
Shawn Barry travelled to Lisbon, Portugal with the U.S. U-18 Men’s National Team for the XIII Lisbon International Tournament. The U.S. U-18 MNT finished 3rd after a win and two losses. Barry has played every minute for U.S. U-18 MNT in the tournament. On May 30th, the U.S. U-18 Men’s National Team fell to Finland by a final score of 3-1. Then on June 1st the U.S. U-18 MNT came from behind to beat Norway 3-2. In their third game on June 2nd the U.S. U-18 MNT fell to host Portugal 4-0.
"We are very proud of Shawn as he continues his development with the National team program. He has played every minute for the U.S. in this tournament which is a good sign as it shows the confidence the U.S. National Team coach has in him. Shawn has been an inspiration to all the younger players and his team mates here at Schulz Academy. When he returns he will join with his team mates as they try and win their 4th consecutive USL Super Y-League North American Finals Championship." said Academy Director Dr. Josef Schulz.
The U.S. Under-18 team is in the midst of preparations for the PanAmerican games, which take place in Brazil in July, and the SBS Cup in Japan in August.
