3 Schulz Academy Players Return To U.S. Residency Program
Schulz Academy is the only club in the country providing 3 of it’s players to the Residency Program of the US Soccer Federation. Donovan Henry, Zach Herold, and Stefan Jerome are preparing themselves together with the other Elite Players of the country for the U17 World Cup in 2009. DC United has 2 players, and all the other 35 U-17 National Team Players are from 35 different clubs in the US.

Stefan Jerome celebrates after the game winner vs. Brazil
“We are very excited about the opportunity for our players representing USA in the National Team. The competition in the Residency Program is tough, but I think all 3 players have the quality of being selected for the final squad going to the U-17 World Cup. Donovan (Henry) is coming back from a knee injury sustained in a match of the National Team in France vs. Germany, and starts already practicing with the squad at the camp in Bradenton. He was working hard in the last few weeks in the physiotherapy room to get back in shape as quick as possible”, states Dr. Josef Schulz, founder of the Academy.
“I can’t wait till I can work with the ball again. During the time I couldn’t play because of the injury I just realized how much I miss soccer. Getting back on the soccer field just makes me extremely happy. I will work very hard to make it back to the starting 11 in the team, like before the match vs. Germany”, says Donovan Henry, after he joined his teammates again last week.
Stefan Jerome used part of his free time during vacation in Florida to watch some of his former team mates of the Schulz Academy either at practice or at the matches.
The primary goal of the Schulz Academy is to provide as many as possible young players for National Teams of the US Soccer Federation.
“We hope, that more of our young players in the academy, including Donovan, Stefan, and Zachary make it the same big as Josmer Altidore, who was the first player of our Academy in the Residency Program, and now playing for the European Powerhouse FC Villarreal in Spain’s “La Liga”, says Josef Schulz.
