Besides the already since many years established SCHULZ ACADEMY in Ft. Lauderdale, the plan for this additional venture in the first year is to form 3 COERVER SCHULZ ACADEMIES in Florida. The first one starts in the Treasure Coast area, and it starts with a splash. On May 21-23, 2010, coaches from West Ham United International Academy will come to Florida to be part of the West Ham United ID camp. The best players of this camp will be invited to the West Ham United National ID Camp to Virginia in July. The best from there will be invited to London to train with the top international soccer talent at the West Ham United Academy.
The Coerver Schulz Academies will be year round soccer programs, where the focus is on developing talented soccer players through high quality training, and reducing the number of games.
“The biggest mistake here in the US is the fact, that players, especially in younger age groups, have too many games. In this new program we make sure that players grow up with a healthy mix of quality training and quality games” says Paul Gibbons, Regional Director of Coerver Coaching Methods South East USA.
On May 29-31 a select group of players in different age groups will participate at the US Club Soccer Regionals in Vero Beach.
Over the summer the best players of the program will have the opportunity to play in the Super Y League which ends with the National Finals in November.
“I always liked the Coerver training method which started the big success of Dutch Soccer many years ago. We at the Schulz Academy used these exercises for many years, and helped our players tremendously, especially on the technical side. If you master as a young player the exercises of the Coerver Method you have a very solid base to become a great player”, continues Dr. Josef Schulz, founder of the Schulz Academy.
Tryouts for the new Coerver Schulz Academy Program, which also serves as additional tryout for the Super Y League for Ft. Lauderdale Schulz Academy are held on:

To make this new program even more attractive for the players of the region in and around the Treasure Coast, a Westham United ID camp will be held on May 21-23 at Palm City Park. More details about this camp will be announced later.
