The search for another Jozy Altidore (here at the World Cup) starts in January
Schulz Academy is working on its next step to prepare players for professional soccer. Starting in January 2011 players of the PDL team and talented national and international youth players will be brought in to beautiful Boca Raton in Florida having one goal: Playing in the next World Cup 2014 in Brazil, and becoming pro in Europe before.
“All the necessary infrastructure for a project like this is already in place, like Housing, Private School, Fields, Gym, Coaching and the Experience. I remember when I started 17 years ago the soccer program in Bradenton at the Nick Bollettieri Sports Academy, which is now the IMG Academy, where the U17 National Team is practicing year round. Then we started from scratch. Now we have already everything ready to go and it is in a great area, in Boca Raton”, says Dr. Josef Schulz, founder of the Soccer Program in Bradenton and now president of the Schulz Academy.
The new program will focus mainly on American talent, but also top talented international players will be brought in to raise the quality in the training and in the matches.
“The PDL, a league for young upcoming soccer players in the age of 16-20, is a great vehicle to develop talents. For our young players it’s the perfect competition to make the next step from youth soccer to pro level”, explains Stephan Von Lattorff, manager of Schulz Academy.
“As soon as the PDL season is over end of July we will start to work on this new project. We have already interest from many national and international players to join this program. In addition to the exceptional soccer instructions and training, the players also will be able to finish High School, learn other languages or even start college”, continues Stephan Von Lattorff.
“Players like Josmer Altidore are not born every year. He is the full package. But with hard work and a good selection I am convinced that we can develop players for European Clubs, and through good performances in Europe then find the way back into the US National Team for the World Cup 2014 in Brazil”, states Josef Schulz, who is also the Head Coach of the Schulz Academy.
