SCHULZ ACADEMY WINS PDL DERBY VS. IMG ACADEMY
WILLIAM SUEDIOS SCORES IN 1-0 WIN

A strong first half was enough to beat IMG Academy in their home opener on Sunday, May 8 at the IMG fields in Bradenton. Schulz Academy created several goal scoring opportunities in the beginning of the game, which also counts as an US Open Cup qualifying game, and controlled the match with good ball possession. In the 34th minute William Suedois, one of the young talents in the Schulz Academy team, received the ball on the left side of the field, dribbled to the middle and curved the ball from 25 yard out with his right inside of the foot into the upper corner. In the second half IMG tried everything to tie the game, but the Schulz Academy players tactically followed the game plan and denied the IMG players any goal scoring opportunities.

“Last year in our first PDL season we played to survive, this year we play to win. I am very confident in the ability of this young team. We showed already last week in the away game vs. Central Florida Kraze that we can dominate a game and this time we could follow through with a win”, says Dr. Josef Schulz, Head Coach of the team.

“After 1000’s of repetitions in the training sessions it finally worked”, described William Suedois his goal. “I am working on the exact move now for over a month in the practices, and it’s a good feeling that it worked in a match, especially when it was the game winner”, continues Will, who is with 17 one of the youngest players in the Schulz Academy team.

The next Schulz Academy PDL game is on Sunday at 6:00 pm at Central Broward Regional Park in Ft. Lauderdale vs. IMG
